Maria & Priit

Our Story...

Maria spent her childhood in Cambridge, Ohio and Parkersburg, West Virginia, dreaming of the day when a handsome prince would come from a faraway land and sweep her off her feet. Whilst waiting to meet him, she practiced poetry and philosophy and developed a fascination with dancing, acrobatics and roller skating. She later moved to Los Angeles and became a writer and producer, dabbled in figure skating, and still wondered, where was he? What was taking him so long?

 

About 9098 kilometers or 5654 miles away, Priit grew up near Tallinn, Estonia, in a small town that looks and feels a lot like Cambridge. He loved to ride around on his bicycle, and wished he could be just like MacGyver, from American television. Thanks to the show, Priit gained an impressive command of the English language, and an even more impressive ability to fix just about anything, which led him to study engineering. 

Priit had a great uncle Eero who had a wife named Maria. They were a lovely couple who lived a long and happy life together. 

After his last visit with them before coming to the United States, Priit asked himself, "When will I find my Maria?"

 

Little did he know that HIS Maria was impatiently waiting for him next door to the site of MacGyver's TV house in Venice Beach! For three years, every Sunday afternoon, she went to the same spot at the beach. She was just about to give up, when one Sunday in July 2012, she went back to the spot on a whim. This time, Priit was there, and before long they were laughing and talking as though they'd known each other forever. He swept her off her feet... and they lived happily ever after.
